The Chicago Bears went from bad to worse after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3. The 41-10 blowout drained any hope left in the fanbase and proved the Bears might be the worst team in the NFL.
The updated 2024 NFL draft order suggests they are, in fact, the league's worst club, too.
The Bears hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft entering Week 4's showdown against the Denver Broncos, who are also searching for their first win and are currently the No. 2 pick in the 2024 draft.
Chicago is one of four winless teams right now, with the Bengals potentially being a fifth if they lose their Monday night matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The Bears have the tie-breaker for the No. 1 pick because their strength of schedule is the worst, with an opponent win percentage of 46%.
One of those other winless teams is the Carolina Panthers, whose first-round pick belongs to the Bears because of the blockbuster trade in the 2023 NFL Draft. Chicago had the first pick last year and traded it to the Panthers so Carolina could select quarterback Bryce Young.
The Panthers are currently picking No. 4 overall.
If the Chicago Bears' 2023 season continues on its horrendous path, no doubt change will come. It's unlikely Matt Eberflus will survive a second year as the coach of the worst team in the NFL, and Caleb Williams would almost certainly replace Justin Fields if the Bears do end up with the top pick.
No Bears fan thought they'd be here, having conversations like this after only three games. Unfortunately, this has become all too common with this team.
