Former Bears QB Nick Foles signs 2-year deal with Colts (2022 Season)

The Nick Foles era in Chicago was short-lived. In fact, it never really got started. The former Super Bowl MVP lasted only two seasons with the Bears. He started eight games, winning three of them, and threw for 2,102 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

The Bears released Foles earlier this month to provide the journeyman passer with a better chance at latching on with another team, which he did Monday, signing a two-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts.

The Philadelphia Eagles were in the mix for Foles, too, but he'll reunite with former coach Frank Reich on a team that has a legitimate chance to make a playoff run in 2022. There's also a chance Foles starts games for Indianapolis. The Colts traded for Matt Ryan this offseason but at 36-years-old, he's on the backside of his career. At some point, it's going to fall off a cliff.

If that happens this season, Nick Foles represents a quality Plan B for a Colts team that's been in quarterback purgatory since Andrew Luck's retirement in 2019.

The Bears revamped their quarterback room this offseason. Justin Fields is the obvious starter and long-term franchise player. Veteran Trevor Siemian was signed in free agency to be the backup and Nathan Peterson is the current QB3.
