The Chicago Bears traded a 2024 second-round pick to the Washington Commanders for edge rusher Montez Sweat on Tuesday, adding a much-needed injection of talent to the pass rush.
Sweat, 27, has 6.5 sacks through eight games this year. Meanwhile, the Bears as a team, only have 10.
General manager Ryan Poles has work to do to lock Sweat up to a long-term deal, but for now, his presence should make Chicago a more formidable defense.
